On Wednesday, we'll be having a Socratic Seminar that deals with the pros and cons of homework in our education. Today, (3/28) your task is to find an article online that deals with this topic. Read the article while filling in dialectical notes, then write a comment on the blog. Your comment will receive a 10 pt. grade. The most insightful comment will receive a 10 pt. grade, plus extra credit.
New research shows that some students are doing more than three hours of homework a night -- and that all that school work may be literally making them sick.
ReplyDeleteYou have to read the thing first mam
Deletehi there im a computer i see you
Deleteeduflow shows that students will help provide them with new skills but if they get a piece of homework wrong they will get frustrated quick and lose interest
ReplyDeletemy article says that homework should not be over 10% of your grade, this is because if you have too much homework and not get all of them done it wont be the end of the world
ReplyDeleteI think Homework is pretty useless i say this because
ReplyDelete1. homework used to be given to k-2 to do with there parents but a lot of parents are not there for there children
2. students sit in school almost all the time and barely have any exercise and then they get home and sit to do there H.W and might finish during bed time and have no exercise at all
Top post so far, and a pretty convincing argument.

ReplyDeleteMy article was about how bad homework is which is so true. The main points it says is that kids need more free time, with homework there will be in increase of kids fighting with their parents, and how we need interaction time.
ReplyDeleteI believe that you should ban homework because in my article a middle school student from Oklahoma has to do 80 note cards for French two days before the test. That's unfair because they won‘t enough time to finish all the note cards in two days. Students stay up too late to finish homework and they don't have enough time too rest. Too much homework leads to too much stress and kids don't have enough time to relax and get exercise. It's not fair too give students grades k-2 so much homework because they just started learning the concept of school and work and it would be too much for them to handle.
